Lessons

For
Young
Children

The lesson plans below were developed by project members, who are primarily Year 1 and Year 2 pre-service early childhood education majors.

One section adopts a theme-based approach, using music as the central medium to cultivate children’s abilities across cognitive, social, and aesthetic domains. The other section follows a movement-based instructional design, emphasizing embodied musical experiences to deepen children’s understanding of musical concepts such as rhythm, dynamics, and expressive qualities. Together, these lessons demonstrate how pre-service educators integrate music into early childhood pedagogy through both thematic learning and active, movement-oriented exploration.
