Her research focuses on K–12 and pre-service music teacher education, with particular interests in popular music pedagogy, educational policy, and teacher development. She is also deeply interested in the cultural dimensions of music education, including ethnic and traditional music practices in China. Through interdisciplinary inquiry, she aims to explore how music and culture intersect in educational settings to foster inclusive and contextually grounded learning experiences.
